{Birth Stories: Kevin & Christy}

If you had told me back in high school that I would be in the delivery room with a close classmate photographing her first child’s birth, I would have laughed. But it happened! Way back then I had no idea how much I would love the experience of capturing the beautiful moments in life for people - let alone that of a close friend. There is no way to describe the feeling of being present for a family except through my lens.

{Their Story}

Kevin and Christy knew without question that they wanted to have their interactions with each other and their extended family to be highlighted during their labor and delivery process. They were all in for a candid photo session and there was truly no shortage of love, excitement, and anticipation for their new baby.

These two did something I was never able to do in my own pregnancies -they waited to find out the sex of their baby. I know, right!? Talk about true patience! I mean really, an entire pregnancy for me was too long to wait to find out if it was a boy or a girl.

But they did it!

This couple, with what was almost the whole family in the waiting area, supported each other. They loved on each other, they cried with each other…and brought their baby it into this world together at 3:18pm.

I can still hear the exclamation of relief when he exited the comfort of his mommy’s body. The wait was finally over and now the moment of truth…IT’S A BOY!!!

Tears, smiles and hugs, and a gentle peace filled the room. Blake is finally here!
