With a crew of 4 little people, I’m very familiar with being the memory keeper for your family and taking all of the pictures while at the same time thinking to yourself, “I wish someone would follow me around and take pictures of me loving on my babies.”
My work has been featured in movies, museum exhibitions, and internationally published in photo books.
I have been photographing families for 6 years, and chasing children and avoiding laundry piles for 8 years!
My house is a mess, too.
Like you, I am frustrated by my absence in so many years' worth of pictures even if we include the blurry ones I begged dad to take. My home always has scattered toys and piles of laundry, so I understand your hesitance in having someone take pictures of the real-life moments you share with your children.
Even if your house isn't perfect, it's real and it's yours and your family will remember you loving them well in it.
